Example research brief: restaurant photography

A planning example for a photographer, not an app result or a claim that any business needs this service.

Search category
Restaurants, with one chosen service area.
Area boundary
A location and radius that fit the photographer's travel arrangements.
Manual review
Visit each website and note the current food imagery and the services the restaurant offers.
Shortlist reason
Record an observable connection to the photographer's experience, not an assumption about budget or interest.

Define the business you want to reach

Describe a prospective customer using a recognizable business category. An equipment supplier might choose gyms; a photographer might choose restaurants. If you sell to businesses, your search should describe those businesses, not their customers.

Choose a manageable area

Start with one city or service area. For example, a supplier planning visits could research gyms around Toronto. This is a research example, not a claim about the number of results available. In LeadFinder, choose the category and location, then set a radius that fits your territory.

Run a search and inspect the results

Review the returned names, addresses and available contact details. Open the business websites that look relevant. Check whether the business serves the kind of customer or operates the kind of location your offer is intended for.

Make a shortlist with a reason

Add a note explaining why each business belongs on your list. Useful notes describe an observable fit, such as the equipment it uses or a service it offers. A phone number, an email address or a low review count does not prove buying interest.

Download and organize your research

Export the results you want to work with. Keep the search category, area and date with the file. Review duplicates when combining searches and check important contact details again before follow-up.

Learn from the next step

Record which prospects were relevant and which were not. Refine the category, location or your qualification criteria for the next search. The purpose is a better list, not simply a larger one.
